Qualifications
  • Post-MSc Counselling Psychology: University of Wolverhampton, UK. (2004-2006)
  • Doctoral-level training accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which together with the MSc, meets the full requirements of the BPS Diploma in Counselling Psychology, leading to Chartered status. The course requires a minimum of 450hrs of one-to-one counselling on placement, for which she obtained over 750hrs over the duration of the course.
  • MSc Counselling Psychology (part-time): London Guildhall University, UK. (2001-2003)
  • Has been accredited by the BPS and meets the full requirements of Part I of the BPS Diploma in Counselling Psychology, and the research requirements of Part II. Included 150hrs of one-to-one counselling on placement and 40hrs of personal therapy. The emphasis of this course was on the ‘scientist-practitioner’ approach, which teaches evidence-based psychotherapeutic practice (assessment, therapy and consultation) from within the following models; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Systemic and Humanistic. The course also covers research and experiential skills.
  • BSc2(i) (Hons) Psychology Degree: Middlesex University, UK. (1997-2001)
  • This degree is accredited by the BPS and leads to Graduate Basis for Registration. Modules included; Philosophy, Psychology & Law, Biological Basis of Behaviour, Research Methods in Psychology (I and II), Child Development, Educational Psychology, Personality & Intelligence, Social Psychology, Memory & Attention, Psychology of Consciousness, and Psychology Placement Dissertation.
